Don't pay for training: Set clear expectations.


Do those concerned know what is expected of them?

Your people could already have the skills and the right equipment to do the job. If that’s the case, then the problem lies in the execution, not the ability.

If your people don’t know what they are supposed to do, how are they supposed to do it? Don’t pay for training without fixing this first.

If this is the case, set clear expectations for your people about the action they are supposed to complete so they know exactly what, when and how they need to complete the action.

So, how do you set clear expectations?


This can be achieved in a number of ways. One-on-one discussions, videos, emails - it all depends on your organisation and your people.

It could be as simple as sitting your team down and letting them know what is expected of them, or it could be communicated through a detailed video campaign.

Sometimes the reason a desired action doesn’t occur is that people simply don’t know they’re supposed to do it. The best fix is to tell them!
